For many, being closeted is dark and lonely.
We feel as if we are left with no choice but to live a fake, heteronormative lifestyle to cater to others’ ignorance.
To whoever feels the same way as the stated in the (PostSecret) picture below: I feel your pain and I pray for you.

I live for the day when ignorance is banished and acceptance thrives, but for now…I live for the moments where I get to live freely and openly; without the fear of being judged.
One love.
Sadly, it seems to be human nature to cling to what is familiar and be afraid of everything else. As Littlefoot’s mom said in Land Before Time, “Long necks stick with long necks. Spike tails stick with spike tails. That’s just the way it is. That’s just the way it’s always been.” I agree that we’re moving in the right direction, but the question is whether or not we’ll see the finish line.
PS – It took a lot of discipline to not write the last sentence as “… whether or not we’ll see the Great Valley.”
